About Us

Welcome to Fig and Thyme!

If you’ve found this page you must love food as much as I do!

“You eat with your eyes first” they say. Looking at food we see texture, colour, shape, precision, consistency and from there we decide if we want to eat it, if it looks good it tastes good, right?

When I started out with Fig and Thyme I wanted to create food that catches the eye first, and tastes amazing second.

My food and catering background comes from watching and learning mainly, having worked in some great places over the years such as The Beetle and Wedge in Moulsford, set on the river Thames this is where my hospitality adventure began at the age of 18.

I learnt so much in the 10+ years I was there and worked with many great characters along the way.

I thought I wanted to be a chef at that time, but after a few months of taking note and watching the day to day running of the kitchen and the running of an independent business in general, I soon realised it wasn’t for the faint hearted and not ideal with a young daughter at the time.

All these years later and with 4 children and a husband in tow I found myself working in the most beautiful place in Oxfordshire, Le Manoir au Quat’Saisons.

This place is the definition of beautiful both on and off the plate.

But it was cut short when I had to give up work, the 2 years I spent there were ones I will never forget.

So here we are, all the love and passion for food, wine, produce, events and hospitality in general has come down to this, simple eye-catching food to enjoy at home with family and friends or to cater that all important event.

Live to eat, not eat to live

At Fig & Thyme we have created a selection of combinations for our grazing boxes, such as “The Italian”, a classic antipasto style, and the “Tea for Two”, an afternoon tea combination. The boxes can be mixed and matched to suit your likes and dislikes.

Besides from the boxes we offer a variety of other creations ranging from grazing tables for 10 people or more, sandwich or bagel platters with a choice of filling, charcuterie cups perfect for an evening reception, and not forgetting the home-made scotch eggs and sausage rolls.
